YIKES! I'M 35!

Yesterday was supposed to be a day to celebrate, but it was a difficult day for me...I turned 35! Did I really just say that? Yes, I am now 35! It was easier to say, I'm 30... you know..the new 20..but, 35? There was so much more that I had planned to accomplish by 35. I won't share my bucket list because it will only make me more sad to type it! ha Instead, I see more wrinkles and a little more back fat (girls, you know what I'm talking about!) than the year that I turned 30! ha Just when I began to drown myself in my aging sorrows I realized... I've had 35 great years. While we all have our ups and downs, I've had a blessed life with an absolute wonderful family and friends that mean the world to me. I have the most beautiful boy that I could ever ask for and a husband who truly loves me. God has truly blessed me and I'm very thankful for my 35 years. Now, I've just decided to stop having birthdays. Then 35 won't seem so bad! ha

P.S. After I opened my gifts, Breydon and John sang Happy Birthday to me and we had a birthday pinic dinner on the floor in our house. I loved it!

MOMMY, I SPEAK SPAMISH (Spanish)!

Today, Papaw told me that Breydon knows a song in Spanish. What? He's only 3! He was so excited to sing his new song for me. I'm so proud! Now, what is he saying? ha!

OOPS...WRONG NUMBER

My family often reminds me that the motto of my life is "If it can happen, it happens to Nickie!" Well, unfortunately they're right! Now, I can add another "happening" to my list!

I was trying to reach out to a friend via text to see if she could meet me for breakfast. I quickly typed in the number and sent the message. I received a reply that says, "I won't be available until later in the p.m. gotta work in a.m." I thought the response was strange because I wasn't aware that my friend had a job on the weekend. So, I responded and said, "Ok, how about later in the day?" I then get a response that says, "Depends on when IndyGo let's me go. Probably between 3-5." With my confused look on my face I thought to myself...IndyGo? IndyGo? Why is she working for IndyGo? I then responded and typed, "I'm sorry. What are you doing? I don't remember?" The response..."Drive Bus." What? I typed, "Huh?" Why would my friend be driving a bus? Was I missing something?

Then...my phone rings. It's my friend...

Caller: "Hi." (male voice)
Me: "Hi. Who is this?"
Caller: "Mike Melton"
Me: "Who?"
Caller: "Mike Melton"
Me: SILENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just realized I had been texting someone by the name of Mike Melton and not my friend. Thank God he wasn't available for breakfast!

If only I could have been texting Peyton!!!!

SOCCER FUN ON A BEAUTIFUL DAY

Today has been beautiful! It's hard to believe that we have snow coming soon. Ugh! Breydon was excited when Daddy set up his soccer game that Mamaw and Papaw bought him for Christmas! Of course, he had to wear a jersey! You can't play soccer without a football jersey! ha And...Mamaw...you are in trouble! Breydon keeps kicking with his left foot!

MY HUSBAND, THE GERRIE

John and I took Breydon to the libary today. They had "Story Time for Toddlers" and crafts. It wasn't exactly the type of program we were hoping it would be, but Breydon did end up enjoying the craft that he made with us. I promised Breydon that he could pick out a couple of books after class. Of course, he wanted a specific book. I knew I was in the correct area, but it was taking some time to find them. With all of the computers at the end of every aisle, John says in a serious tone, "Maybe we should use the Card Catalog for a reference." I couldn't help but laugh. Does anyone even say that anymore? Of course, my husband...The Gerrie!
