John helped Breydon make an IU egg and a football egg...at least he tried! :)
John reading the bedtime story "The Egg Hunt."
To Be Continued....
Today, Papaw told me that Breydon knows a song in Spanish. What? He's only 3! He was so excited to sing his new song for me. I'm so proud! Now, what is he saying? ha!
My family often reminds me that the motto of my life is "If it can happen, it happens to Nickie!" Well, unfortunately they're right! Now, I can add another "happening" to my list!
I was trying to reach out to a friend via text to see if she could meet me for breakfast. I quickly typed in the number and sent the message. I received a reply that says, "I won't be available until later in the p.m. gotta work in a.m." I thought the response was strange because I wasn't aware that my friend had a job on the weekend. So, I responded and said, "Ok, how about later in the day?" I then get a response that says, "Depends on when IndyGo let's me go. Probably between 3-5." With my confused look on my face I thought to myself...IndyGo? IndyGo? Why is she working for IndyGo? I then responded and typed, "I'm sorry. What are you doing? I don't remember?" The response..."Drive Bus." What? I typed, "Huh?" Why would my friend be driving a bus? Was I missing something?
Then...my phone rings. It's my friend...
Caller: "Hi." (male voice)
Me: "Hi. Who is this?"
Caller: "Mike Melton"
Me: "Who?"
Caller: "Mike Melton"
Me: SILENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just realized I had been texting someone by the name of Mike Melton and not my friend. Thank God he wasn't available for breakfast!
If only I could have been texting Peyton!!!!

At 3:00 a.m., I awoke to the voice of Bubby saying, "Mommy, I wanna fweep (sleep) with you." I gave him a hug and snuggled in with him in our bed. Just as I finally got back to sleep, I hear a horrible sound throughout our house. It was 5:20 a.m. and the security alarm had gone off! I yelled John’s name. I’ve never seen him jump out of the bed so fast! He told me to stay in the bedroom and shut the door. My biggest fear (other than drowning) is not being able to see if someone were to break in our home or kidnap me! I’m as blind as a bat without my glasses or contacts. I jumped out of the bed to grab my glasses. I knocked everything off of my nightstand, including my glasses and the phone. Meanwhile, Breydon was still sound asleep all cozy in the bed. I grabbed him and tried to remain calm because I didn’t want to scare him. He said, "Mommy, is it time to get up yet? Let’s watch Mickey!" I said, "Buddy, it’s still nighttime. The alarm went off in the house so Daddy is checking to make sure everything is okay." He had a confused look on his face, but didn’t question anything. I found the bathroom door and the phone that I had knocked off the nightstand and went into the bathroom and locked the door. I kept hollering at John to make sure that he was okay. I had the phone up to my nose trying to see the numbers so that I could dial 911, if necessary. Then...the phone says "Line in Use." Uh, talk about scaring you to death! I’ve seen too many horror films. Did somebody cut the phone line? Did they take it off the hook on purpose? I wanted to pass out, but I kept telling myself to remain calm for Breydon’s sake. As I'm holding Breydon, I kept trying to get a dial tone and the next thing I knew it was the alarm company calling. The ring scared me so bad I almost peed my pants! ha I’m sure we would have won Funniest Home Videos if we had our video camera on during this time. John came in the room and told me that he thought everything was okay. Long story short, our front door was open! I would have been freaked out, but the outside glass door was locked. John thought that it must not have been closed all of the way and the wind had pushed it open. Thank Goodness! So...we all got cozy back in our bed and remained WIDE AWAKE! I swear I heard a million noises after that and made John get up a couple of times. As I FINALLY started to drift off...MY ALARM CLOCK WENT OFF! TGIF! I don't want to hear another alarm for the next two days!
