Since it was so hot, Bubby only lasted one period...if that! It was just way too hot today. He loved the game, but decided he would just go to Taco Bell and walk around the mall with Mommy. And...he enjoyed that too!

I just received the following email from Mamaw and had to share...

Your dad had Breydon up on his lap and said, "Look at his legs. They are so tanned. They are going to call him Obama's son." And Breydon says, "I approve this message!!!" HA!!!! Hilarious!!!

Bubby ran into the living room to show us his new Kung Fu Panda PJs. He said, "I want to show you my moves." He did his version of Kung Fu Panda which was quite humorous. As he was performing his moves, he fell down (reminded me of Aunt Deb! ha). I said, "Bubby you're so clumsy." He said with a grin, "And I'm handsome too!" I couldn't argue with that!!!

I've lost someone dear to me....

Mike Symmes (aka Dad) passed away on August 7, 2008. He was someone very dear to me. I'm truly blessed to have known him for so many years. He was the most unselfish, giving, loving man that I have ever known. I wasn't even family, yet he always made me feel like his fourth (yet redheaded) daughter. I remember sitting in his old house having long, heart to heart talks about my job when I was stressed and needed advice. I remember him constantly teasing me about the guys I was dating and telling me that they must be from the blind school. We always enjoyed spending Christmas evening with the family. It was always fun playing Trivial Pursuit-- guys v. girls. Dad was always so good at answering those questions! I treasure the fact that he stayed up late and spent hours putting Breydon's bassinet together. I know that wasn't easy! I also remember what an awesome job he did at making my watermelon carriage for my baby shower! I was impressed! He always got a kick out of Breydon too! He thought it was so funny that Breydon always wanted his "mote" to the TV. He also got a kick out of Breydon pretending to drink his coffee from McDonalds while we were at Griffin's games.

Dad was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family more than anything in this world and there isn't anyone who crossed his path that didn't know that... I'm very blessed to have had him in my life. Mike, thank you for all that you have done for me and my family. I will treasure all of the great times. You are truly missed...

Corn On The Cob

Bubby absolutely loves his corn on the cob. It's his favorite vegetable...well...actually just about the only one that he'll eat these days! We were eating corn on the cob tonight and his piece had some corn "silk" still left on it. He says, "Mommy, I can't eat it. It's got weeds on it."

Mommy, I was you...

I (secretly) have been a little down lately because I can tell that Bubby is starting to turn into a Daddy's boy. There are times that I feel I'm invisible, but I chalk it up to the fact that John is just a big kid and that's why he likes him so much! ha Today, when I put Bubby down for a nap, he put his head up to my forehead and says, "Mommy, I was [love] you." I wanted to cry. I'll treasure it forever. I just love him!

When Bubby woke up this morning, he jumped in our bed. We were playing "tickle" and he was cracking up. All of the sudden he says, "Wait, Mom. I think I need medicine." I said, "Medicine?" I knew he was trying to get me to stop tickling him. He said, "Yep, I need medicine." I said, "Bubby, you're not sick. You don't need medicine." He says with a huge grin, "Prove it." He's 2...where does he get this stuff?
