I was so cozy in my bed this morning. It was so cold outside! Right around 6:00 a.m., I woke up to a "beep" that would not quit! I was so tired after taking my cold medicine that it took me a minute before I realized what it was...our bedroom smoke detector. The battery was low and it decided to wake me up at 6:00 a.m. to tell me this! I'm thankful for having one, but come on...waking me up on Sunday morning at 6:00 a.m.? I had to wake up John because, of course, it was at the highest part of our ceiling in the bedroom. John got the ladder and all I could see without my glasses was a plumber's butt traveling slowly but surely up to the ceiling. What a sight! Then, of course, the entire house alarm went off as he was trying to replace the battery. Bubby woke up at that point and said, "Daddy,no, no, no, turn the 'wights' off!" John managed to get off the ladder without killing anyone else! We both struggled to go back to sleep. I swear that I had just closed my eyes to fall back to sleep only to hear, "Mommy, you wanna cuddle?"...at 8:30 a.m. That made it all worth it! :)
